All the advantages of LCD sets (widescreen etc) but old style tube so much cheaper.
Teletext may or may not work and Samsung found a legal loophole in that Teletext is not covered under warranty. They say it is down to "No Signal" even though the set they lent to us works perfectly well on Teletext, also other sets we have had in the past have never given us a moment's problem.
Both Samsung, their approved t.v. engineers and the shop we bought it from (a well known local shop and who also sell extensively from the internet) have been absolutely no help at all. We have had the set brand new since mid November. It broke down with an unrelated problem Christmas day and to date (1 Feb) it has not been returned to us with an acceptable repair. All that happens is that we are pushed from pillar to post - Customer Services of shop to engineers, to Samsung and get nowhere. Would never in a million years recommend buying any product from Samsung.
