I have tuned mine up quite a lot. Stock it has great handling but once lowered on Eibach's it is fantastic. From 04 on the Sport shares the same 5 stud hub as Type R, so mine is running Spoon Monobloc calipers, EBC Turbo discs, braided hoses and it feels fantastic! k and N induction kit and Scorpion Cat back improve performance and add nice sound! I'm running 17" wheels and this slows acceleration but improves handling.
Hmm... It has very few. It is nice to insure (even with mods), reliable and nippy. Watch out for potholes, speed bumps, any rut or texture in road. It doesn't like speed bumps one bit even when stock. It is NOT a Type R. I test drove a Type R and the difference in power, gearchange and road handling is vast. If you want a Type R get a Type R. If your not worried about 197bhp or like me banned by parents/age/insurance then the sport is great...just don't try and race Type R's.
The Honda Civic Sport 1.6i VTEC is a fantastic car. I have done 48,000 miles in my 04 plate. It isn't a Type R and powerwise it does feel slow but it makes up for it in the corners where it will beat most cars.
I like it and I really can't find a bad word to say apart from the lack of power vs. the Type R.
