I have recently had the anti-pollution fault message, with esp/asr not functioning then I lost all power over 3000rpm. Fitting a new airflow meter/sensor brought it back to normal (including the esp/asr functions) at once and after driving the car for 5 miles, having stopped & restarted the engine, the pollution fault message disappeared & full power is again available. (change this sensor about £100 from main dealers, fitted in the air filter)
PS - my car had been showing the warning off and on for several months before finally losing power. The best £100 I have spent on the car!
I have no idea how this flow meter should effect the esp/asr message and no I didn't bother to consult a Citroen expert.
