Light weight, easy to pump and load, relatively accurate
Poor plastic finishing (many burrs and thorns), relatively low power, can hold only one pump. Beware of the sharp edges of the pumping handle.
I cannot call myself an expert on air guns, but do own some pellet and bb guns. I think this gun worth a try if you are not demanding or I should say it is great for beginners.
I have never use pellets on the 840 since I think it is a waste at around 325fps only. The BBs work great for me on the 840.
I have a Crosman Pumpmaster 760 before, but it has "retired" due to the worn-out valves. Since the 760 is not available in Hong Kong anymore. Without option, I got the 840 to replace the 760. But I regret since it is 2 different level even they both are pneumatic.
Anyhow, I gave the 840 to my girlfriend since this is the only gun she can handle very well. She couldn't pump up the 760 to the max and looks very clumsy In fact very dangerous with it.
She became a "marksman" right after she got the 840, since she could see the path of the bb and easily adjust her aim at the next shot.
I do recommend the 840 to ladies, beginners and kids.
Remark: Please smooth off the Burr and Thorns on the stock as well as the sharp angles of the pumping handle before operating the 840.
