Customer service
I was given a voucher for tea at Harrods for two, for my 30th birthday last year from my Grandma. Unfortunately, the voucher expired before I got to use it - I thought that I had lost the voucher as my bag was stolen, and I thought the voucher was in it. However, when I moved house in December the voucher appeared. I was delighted to have it back, but disappointed when I realised it had just expired. I called the Buy A Gift customer service team and explained my situation. They said that there was nothing that they could do!? Their website states you can extend the voucher for 10 months for an admin charge of £20. I said that I was happy to pay this charge, but they said I couldn't do this, as it had already expired. The man I spoke to was extremely unhelpful, and his manager that I subsequently emailed was not much better! The level of customer service I received was poor. My Grandma who is on a pension paid £55 for the voucher, and I do not believe that there was nothing they could do to extend it - they had not incurred any costs.
