This car is a very fast little machine - although I am not a big Vauxhall fan I must say it is very impressive in the engine department. It's very cheap to run and own and I recommend this car to anyone in search of a cheap hot hatch capable of leaving your mates cars off the lights! Even though it's a Vauxhall for the price it's really worth the run around and makes a great first car!
There's a small badge on the front that says 'Vauxhall' - that's the bad point. Although it's fairly nippy and is quite cheap this car is prone to breaking down. I've owned 2 Vauxhalls in my life and both of them have given me a rough time even if it wasn't that often. On top of everything though, the worst thing about Vauxhall Corsa's (and Nova's) is that DREADFUL gearbox - it's completely hopeless and the only thing I'd change.
I'd definitely buy a Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 SRi if I couldn't afford a Ford fiesta Zetec S or a 106 Quiksilver. Its a great little run around and great fun to drive (apart from the gearbox). Don't pay over £1200 for one though - they're not really worth that much any more when newer cars are taking the throne. Make sure the miles on the clock are not over 80,000 - 90,000 even if the person selling tells you its starts first time, its only a matter of time before thing start going PING. Overall I do like this car but would only buy one if I couldn't afford a Ford or Peugeot.
