Immensely annoying. I know a lot of people who have these Nokia 8310, and everyone has had problems. The model they replaced had software problems, and as usual Nokia replaced it with another one just as bad. The problems didn't start straightaway, but have got continuously worse. It turns off when you are trying to reply to an email, and periodically shows a message that the sim card needs to be inserted. Nokia phones seem to be getting progressively worse as each new model comes out. The 8310 is awful, and the sooner its withdrawn the better. Test your software Nokia !!!

Yeah I would have to agree with you! Though it seems that when I take it back to nokia care centre (though the warranty is running out) they don't think that it is there problem and passes the buck to my server provider!

gone are the days of nokia phones that lasts for years. we should all unite and stop buying nokia phones that are of poor quality and expensive... but are they (nokia) bothered? in short... "no".
