When it works, it's magic
The box you buy says very little about the CD nor about the TomTom website. You actually will need to use both of these, and you have to hunt around for what you want. Nowhere is there a 'troubleshooting' section. You have to enter 'tips and tutorials', go through FAQs, then prepare an email about your problem, which prompts more FAQs. Then you can submit your email, but you only find this out by trying.
After two weeks, my TomTom One Europe developed a mind of its own. On one trip it switched the voice off, by itself, a couple of times, and then changed into Slovenian. When I tried to enter a town name, it kept inserting the letter 'j' into the text - It kept doing this over several trips. All of this is a bit upsetting and potentially dangerous and of course you cannot access help unless you have bluetooth.
My email for help elicited the reply to delete some maps. I suppose it comes down to being unable to converse with any human help.
In the event, the shop has determined that the touch screen is faulty and replaced the unit yesterday. I had spent €29.95 to put safety camera locations on the original, so I am now trying to find out how to get these put onto my new unit without having to spend the money again.
