General Comments

A few months ago I ordered a custom .117 cal Crosman in the model 2300. I put a Barska red dot scope on it. It is a handy pistol that I have used primarly for plinking outside my living-room window at metal silhouette targets. I typically shoot at 18 and 30 yard targets. My 30 yard target is an official NRA ram. I can hit it an easy 9 out of 10 shots at that range. I get about 50 shots with one CO2 cartridge but start hitting a little low afer 40 shots. So I have to start aiming high after a 40 shots. I have not shot any animals with it yet (none have venture across my shooting range) but I imagine I will use it for a camp gun to take care of rodents and other pests. I would say it has knock down power to kill a robin-size bird out to 25-30 yards but I have yet to test that theory. For the price, the workmanship is not too bad. You usually get what you pay for. I paid around $140 for it. The bluing is alright. It is pretty dark with no sheen. The pistol grips are a pretty dark red color with a varnish-style coating. The nice thing about the custom options is that free engraving can be done. So I put my nickname on it and reference to a bible verse. There are numerous other custum options that can be made. Makes it quite fun when building it out. I wish the trigger pull was a little lighter. Overall, I am glad I have purchased this nice little plinker and would recommend it if you need a gun for blasting away. Other guns would be better for hunting. So it might not compare much to my $1000 Theoben or Logun but I do not have to worry about scratching it either. What I like most is that it is a pretty cheap gun that is not made out of plastic or sheet metal. Give me real wood and metal baby!

    To Naschitti Sniper,
I have recently discovered the society of Crosman 2300, 2450's or Co2's of this type. There is whole after market industry for the customization of breech, barrel, grips and internal valving. There are artisans in metal design and engineering. Like you I have seen the Crosman website and Custom Shop for the configuration of options of choice. Is it really worth it? It's difficult to find reviews on these models. Please share any and all information.
