Found the flex7 seating very useful.
Sticks well to the road. Narrower than most MPV's, so it looks big, making other vehicles notice you, and then gets through gaps. It fits in smaller parking spaces, thanks to Astra heritage.
A bit sluggish . Thick A pillar results in not being able to see a car at 10 metres on a roundabout. I am used to craning my neck.
Left-hand drive windscreen wipers leave dirty band in front of Right-hand drive driver.
The Vauxhall Zafira Comfort 2.0 DTH car that I have was originally a lease car. Made 80k miles in 2 years from new, then I bought it. I am going to run this car into the ground. Now at 135k miles.
I keep refilling stone chip damage to bonnet, which has not yet gone through paint.
Apart from tyres, the following needed replacing:
Glowplugs at 80k and 135k. Mass airflow sensor at 80k.
Unreasonable steering rack + PAS pump assembly at £900 for a "loose trackrod bush MOT fail" at 120k miles. Dealer failed to adjust tracking so front tyres went almost immediately.
Front brake discs + ECU replacement at 110k miles. Also temp sensor and RPM sensor. Cost £1100. Caused by ECU voltage regulator unclipping and rattling around until the wires frayed. ECU replaced because the dealer couldn't understand fault codes stored due to power failure to ECU.
Aircon needed a recharge : inaccessible filler nipple behind everything in engine bay for DIY access.
Battery retention bolt seized and sheared when I changed the battery for the second time in the life of the car.
Fault light came on randomly at speed on motorway recently, but seems to have cleared up again since replacing glow plugs.
