Heavy charges if you go overdrawn - without mercy
I have banked with them for 15 years, but I have now had enough of their poor customer service and lack of helpfulness when I needed them. Like many who complain here, I have had overdraft problems (my fault I completely accept), but when the charges stack up each month, it's not difficult to get in a vicious circle where the charges send you overdrawn the next month. They sent me a "we notice you are going overdrawn. How can we help you sort it out?" letter recently, so I called them and discovered that there was no help available, except that I could apply for an overdraft (and applying for it would cost me £25).
I refuse to give HSBC any more of my money, and I am switching accounts. Unfortunately, I am sure they couldn't care less!
