Myself and my family have just returned from Gozo. We had a really nice holiday over there. Accomodation was excellent, weather was nice, good quality food at all the restaurants we've been to and friendly people. What else? A Great Holiday!
There are some terrible roads in Gozo but it seems that they are working on a lot of roads. Since Malta joined the EU it can be stated that the Maltese are doing their best to spend the money allocated to them by EU! Good job! It happened also in Ireland when we joined the EU.
We had a really good time in Gozo, this was our second time visiting. We had visited Gozo in the Summer of 2003 and now we have been back for the Christmas holidays! I hope we will go again next Summer but this depends on work commitments! Our kids like the village of Santa Lucia and the Tal-Kitarra Farmhouse. On our previous visit we were booked in at a hotel in Xlendi Bay and the day of our arrival in Gozo was the worst day in my whole life! The bad hotel was smelly and the owner asked us for extra money, since he said that he was owed more than the agent promised him! We went out, without having anywhere to go, when a woman who happened to be walking by heard us and realised that we were in trouble and gave us a phone number of a company called gozobreak.com. We called them and luckily enough they had just had a cancellation and we went to one of their farmhouses, Ta' Nikola Farmhouse. Absolutely great farmhouse, though we were a bit cramped since we were 12 in our party but this did not bother us! This place was far better than the place we were booked in in the first place! It was a great holiday then and this time we booked directly through their site www.gozobreak.com. We chose another farmhouse this time, since a 4 bedroom suit us better! We really had a good time in Gozo and thanks to the owners of these wonderful farmhouses, most probably we will visit Gozo again in Summer and if possible stay in the same farmhouse.
