Good Points

I bought this Blast of Steam Euro Pro model #GI488H from a shopping channel and I absolutely loved it. It worked so well that I actually hauled it with me when I travelled, rather than using the Hilton's or other hotels' irons. But after 11 months of pretty light use (I don't iron a lot), the Burst of Steam button "stuck" so it could not be used, and that had been the feature I used most, so I sent it back and got a replacement under the warranty - they were good about it - no questions asked and quick response.

Bad Points

The replacement, however, had a very short warranty period and was a factory refurbish. The first time I used it, it ran so hot (on medium high setting) that it burned a hole straight through a heavy blazer (I was only steaming it, hanging up - wasn't even ironing it by applying any pressure or touching it to the fabric). I now have a one inch hole in my blue and white tweed blazer. My kids came running to find out what was burning because it smelled so hot. I cannot get Customer Service to return my calls. sigh.

General Comments

If I could count on the particular iron I get to be consistent quality and last longer than 11 months, I'd highly recommend this iron. When it works right, it works GREAT. It presses well, steams wrinkles out of curtains and clothing hanging up (not on a person), with that super Blast of Steam. It actually presses BOTH sides of a pant leg, the side "facing" the iron and the underside - the steam is that good.

But I am afraid to try again. This will be my third iron in a year.

Also, the markings on the iron aren't particularly user friendly or intuitive. I had trouble remembering which color flashing lights were "I'm shutting down" and which were "I'm heating up" (it has an auto shut-off).
But again, it worked FANTASTIC when it worked!
