Lots of interesting magazines about cooking...err...
Total lack of connection with how 99.9% of people actually live their lives in this country/Complete London bias/Left wing bias/Pompous obsession with long words that make no sense/Make out that any moderate right wing opinion is bordering on fascism/Obsession with Michelin Star restaurants
Whilst I would agree that political bias is at the centre of every national newspaper, the Independent really takes the proverbial biscuit. It has its opinion set out, and any incoming news is then filtered accordingly. Its aim is only to appeal to its core readership who seem basically to be affluent young trendies who live in Battersea and shop in Farmers Markets. It inherently believes that nothing in this country exists beyond the M25, and its editorials read like a spaced-out undergraduate's sociology essay. If I hear of the word 'ersatz' one more time I think I'll go crazy, although considering the Independent is the only place I've seen it I think I'll be just fine.
