Good Points

A large screen. I'm struggling after that.

Bad Points

Car fixing cheaply made, and insubstantial for use. Car fixing badly designed. The unit is boxed with no adequate protection against mishandling from the postal service. The instructions are barely adequate. It is practically impossible to fit the unit into its holder without activating one of the many buttons on the device. The GPS will not always pick you up while standing outside or in a car. The voice, which is supposed to go louder when travelling at over 70km an hour, goes quieter and is barely audible. The menu screens are very user-unfriendly. There is no wall plug for re-charging. The up-date on mine rendered the GPS totally unusable, even after technical help, which took 10 minutes to get through. The hard reset I had to perform in order to try and get the thing working is not documented. There is no way of transferring address data from a PC.

Some of this may be only relevant to the unit I bought.

General Comments

The Magellan 3000T plays music and shows photo's, but it's supposed to be a GPS! There has been little thought put into this model, both in design and in practical use. I have been using a cheaper 'destinator' model for 3 years previous to this purchase, and I was slightly critical about some aspects of it. But, compared to the Road Mate 3000T it was brilliant.

If you want to buy a photo viewer and SD card music player, the Magellan 3000T is probably OK.
