Not interested in payments taken with permission. Took a direct payment when nil outstanding.
A credit card payment was taken without my permission only for £5.99, so I e-mailed them, but I received no reply. I telephoned them, and they were not in the slightest bit interested. The Halifax told me to call the people in question, but I had already explained that they were proving difficult. Eventually, I got a refund from the people that had taken the money, but not from the Halifax.
Today I have noticed that a payment has been taken by direct debit for Halifax credit card of £16.03 - not a massive payment, but I paid off my credit card on the 20th of December. I called the Halifax - not even an apology; she was trying to justify for 10 minutes why it had been taken. How could there be any justification for a payment taken when nothing is outstanding?!
Apparently they cannot do a refund direct debit so I have to wait for a cheque to be requested. I can't imagine they will pay me interest on what they owe me, will they?
I've said before, and I'll say it again, Egg are the best! They would have dealt with any query I had with an apology.
