The shoe looks good. I purchased the Gold on Black versions. They were on sale for $79, so I really didn't mind the overwhelming negative aspects too much.
The shoe isn't very comfortable. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I bought these shoes a couple of days ago and I too hope that the shoe loosens up because right now it also cuts into my achilles. I don't end up bloody after basketball games, but those tendons are certainly tender after a couple of games.
I don't recommend this shoe. It's just too uncomfortable. It looks good, but virtually unwearable.
