We have had Renaults over the years with generally no problems. The hard top convertible provides excellent space and design at an affordable price (subject to who you buy it from! See comments below). The 1.9dci is a powerful engine, which is required for a car of this size and weight; it cruises on the motorways and enjoys being in 6th gear. Nonetheless you still get over 400 miles out of a tank of diesel.
The clutch is a little high so that if you release it too quickly it may stall, the boot doesn't always close with the first attempt and the car doesn't have a spare tyre as standard.
We went to three Renault garages and then spoke to DC Cook Direct who are based in Barnsley while looking for our Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet 1.9dci Dynamique. We found DC Cook to be attentive to our requirements, they offered more for our part exchange vehicle and priced the Renault Megane many thousands of pounds below the Renault garages. When we had a couple of minor issues to be resolved with the car we spoke with their assistant operations manager, who ensured that both matters were taken care of effectively and efficiently.
