Helen of Troy's Review of Coronation Street

Overall Rating

5 stars
    • Starring (Main Performers)

    Good Points

A classic soap with entertaining and often amusing storylines.

    Bad Points

The odd bad storyline but the good ones outweigh that!

    General Comments

I have watched Coronation Street on and off ever since I can remember. If you miss a few episodes you can soon pick up again. Many of the actors/actresses have been in Corrie for years, making it a little more realistic than some soaps where the actors keep moving on.
Tracey Barlow is a great character, a superbitch you love to hate! Cunning, devious and wickedly clever, that cheeky little grin lets you know she is up to something! Charlie should never have crossed her, she's more than a match for him as we are now seeing! After he dies, Shelley should return with his baby and fight Tracey in a battle over the house and business. And WIN!
And Blanche, doesn't she say the things most people would love to but are afraid to?!
Deirdre, she's had her share of problems and Ken, the stable one!
Norris always snooping into other people's business.
The Factory is out of the Baldwins' hands after many years and a new family have moved in there, Paul and Liam now run the place with Paul's wife pushing herself in on the act.
I cannot finish this review without mentioning young Chesney. What a great kid!

Although opinions on this soap go up and down, depending on the current storyline, I have to give this one a 10/10 as it certainly is one of our longest running and best loved soaps of all time.

      Does Charlie die though? Hmmmmm.

I think he does Micky, and I think it' has to be Tracy who kills him! Should be exciting as the story goes on! Very cleverly written plot but I hope she is found guilty of his murder. Justice must prevail! Shame the Charlie character has to go out of the series, everyone likes a good bad guy!

      Ssshhh, everybody thinks he's dead.

He isn't dead yet! Maybe tonight (Sunday)! Aren't I the sadistic one? Or maybe he will just suffer a little longer?!

Would you recommend this programme, as I can pick up this show on one of the "cable" channels. My wife really likes this type of long running serial show!!

He still isn't dead! Let's see what happens tomorrow now Tracy has paid a visit to him on his death bed! Naughty Tracy!

Hi taylor9991, I would recommend watching Coronation Street if you and your wife love soaps!

      NOW he's dead!

Yep, he sure is, I was hoping for a bit of a twist though, I wanted big Ken Barlow to go storming into Charlie's room, punch him in the face and turn off all the machines!! Disappointed.

Trash! Junk food for the mind! The only sensible comment Gerry Adams has made about about England and the Brits..' Coronation Street should be banned due to its loose morals, concentration on pub life, dim story lines and halfwitted actors'.

And yet "rubblegum" here you are. Taking the time to comment on a show you despise. Knowing an awful lot about it, indicating that maybe you actually never miss an episode? Self loathing I'm thinking.

      I don't like it.
