General Comments

The Ruger M77 is a Mauser-style centerfire rifle manufactured in New England, USA. I have two Ruger M77 rifles (the older Mk1) in .243 and 7x57. Both guns come with walnut stocks with hand checkering, an internal magazine with easy access base, and scope rings.

The M77 is a smooth and comfortable gun to shoot. The newer M77Mk2 can be purchased with a synthetic stock and is available in a variety of calibers.

I favor the older Mk1 version of this rifle, but either the Mk1 or Mk2 would make an excellent big game hunting rifle.

I agree with "Starter". I have the Ruger M77 Mark II, stainless, bolt-action single shot .30.06. It's stock is the prettiest I have on any of my rifles. It's still never been shot, but I know from experience you just cannot go wrong with this particular rifle.
