Indestructable, long lasting, feels like a full bore pistol, good VFM, accurate for what it is (read general comments) and powerful, loads of fun
None really
This (and its sister, the Hurricane) is the last incarnation of a webley design that goes back to before WW1. Webley wanted to design a gun that would weigh and feel like a full bore pistol in the hand, and recoil like one (hence the barrel being over the top instead of inline like contempory pistols). This they tried to sell to the armed forces for teaching pistol shooting, and every boys club, scout group and cadet force in the british empire must've had one at some point!!
Not much has changed over the years, the receiver is alloy instead of steel and the grip is much more ergonomic, but its still the same basic design.
The pistol is virtually indestructable, the barrel is also the cocking lever so is very strong hardened steel, which means it will take lots of abuse (my son isnt strong enough to cock it so he jams the barrel in a long hole i drilled in the edge of the workbench!) and the rifling will never wear out and is up to Webleys excellent standard. It's favourite pellets seem to be large diameter (proper british .22(5.56mm) as opposed to continental 5.5mm) but it will shoot any pellet well. The barrel hardness also makes it suitable for darts.
The pistol is a very good general plinker and is more than enough for 90% of us. Capable of some great groups at 6m or even 10m if you know your gun well, the sights are the limiting factor, the post on the barrel is a little wide for paper punching. webley came up with the Hurricane to overcome this, basically a Tempest with a slightly longer barrel and a hooded target sight.
This pistol is the favourite in my small collection and i recommend it to anyone
