Thus far I've had no successful interactions since upgrading to Platinum.
Upgrading to Platinum is not worth it.
Travel service has been horrific. Multiple times I have had to wait 20 - 30 minutes to get to a representative. The hours of service for the Vacation Package are not published on the website, nor are they stated during the on-hold message. I called once at 4:30pm PST and sat on hold for 25 minutes, only to learn that they were now closed for the day and I would need to call back the next day.
After finally reaching them to book my honeymoon, I was told I would get a response the next day. Two days later I received a voicemail saying the details were being emailed to me and I could contact the representative directly based on the contact information in the email. I did not receive the email.
Their website has no information on how to report this type of bad service. If they had a way to give feedback, I would have first directed my feedback to them to give them an opportunity to make things right before writing this review.
I am now still on hold trying to speak to someone. The "on-hold" message recommends calling back when they're not as busy -- Tuesday 8am - 2pm through Thursday 8am - 2pm.
For $600/yr this level of service is absolutely unacceptable.
At this point, I do not recommend the American Express Platinum credit card at all.
