Good Points

It is a very attractive watch, and decently sturdy. The face is very easy to read and to make out the time.


Bad Points

Heavy and a bit costly.


General Comments

I actually own a Black Patriot. I am in the US Army and I abuse my watches very much; not on purpose, but my job takes a major toll on them, and they get the brunt of the abuse. I have previously owned Luminox Navy Seals, Timex ironmans, and Casio G-Shocks, and I have never come across a watch quite like the MTM Special Ops Black Hawk.

Referring back to my previous watches, I shattered two Luminox face crystals, and my Timex and Casio's got water logged and stopped working. I contacted MTM in distress, and they told me that they welcomed my abuse to their watches, and if I do indeed break or shatter anything, depending on the watch, many have a 3-year warranty. So I purchased a Black Patriot with a ballistic band. I received great shipping time and an awesome package job.

I broke in my watch the first day with a rigorous field session and combat water survival training. About three months later, my unlucky luck caught up with me, and my watch stopped working. I sent in my watch with my card. I called them a few days later to check up on my watch, and I found out that my gears inside my watch rusted and caused the watch to not function. I was immediately sent a brand spanking watch with my card back. The customer service is unbeatable, and I am even thinking about upgrading to the MTM Black Seal watch.

If you are like me and in a demanding job, take my advice and invest in an MTM.
