The Lovely Bones is a beautifully written, inspiring book which will stay with you long after you've read the last page.
The Lovely Bones is a story, told from a murdered 14-year-old girl who is now in heaven. As she watches her family back on Earth to see how they deal with her death and as the years go by how they grow and the experiences they go through. Also how she adjusts to being gone and living in her own heaven.
Despite its rather dark context of opening with a murder, The Lovely Bones is far from being a dark and sinister book; it's a story of grief through hope. Beautifully written and inspirational, it's a great, could-be-read-in-one-sitting book. Gripping and yet lightly graceful.
