The printer is fast
Produces good quality prints
Has very little waste
Low in noise pollution
Energy efficient (sleep mode for long inactive periods)
Bad Points
Printer shuts down if there is a small problem, eg. out of magenta ink you will not be able to print black and white
Customer service will tell you that the print head is gone when it hasn't (Xerox tech will try and replace the print head rather than find the real problem)
General Comments
Although the Xerox 8400N printer is a very good, reliable, quality printer, it seems to have problems just outside warranty. The Xerox tech support are only interested in replacing print heads, which is costly, as it is the main component, rather than finding the exact problem.

I completely agree with the comment about it has problems just outside warranty. Like clockwork! When it worked, it worked good, but it is a real pain to fix - almost not worth the effort. I would advise you to go out and buy another brand.
