General Comments

We ordered our sofas from Haddon House at the beginning of August, and we were told they would be delivered within 3 weeks as they were supposedly in stock. 3 weeks later the sofas weren't delivered, and when we chased Haddon House we were told that they had no idea when our sofas were going to be delivered as they weren't in stock. After phoning them weekly they finally agreed to a delivery date of mid October.

When the sofas were finally delivered they weren't the correct ones, and part of the order was actually missing. They told us they would would replace the sofas with the correct ones within 3 weeks, and to hang on to the wrong sofas until then.

Two weeks after the wrong sofas were delivered they sent us a letter stating they would be unable to provide the correct sofas as they had been discontinued. When we asked for a refund we were told that they would not refund as we had had the (incorrect) sofas for more than 7 days. We had to take out a case with Trading Standards before they would agree to the refund. They finally picked the incorrect sofas up on the 23rd of November, and we were told that a refund would be issued within 28 days. It has now been 41 days and we are still waiting.

Haddon House told me that the cheque was written on the 14th of December, but it is still waiting to be signed by a director and sent out.

    Haddon House should tell clients they are insolvent and won't get any refunds.

    I am writing from Haddon House Furniture Ltd in order to provide an update and clarification on recent events at our company.

    In November 2006, Haddon House made the decision to exit the Leather Upholstery market, (Just2Sofas brand) due to ongoing difficulties with our suppliers and the many quality issues that have clearly affected our customers. We are now solely focusing on Cane/Conservatory Furniture, which is our original market and one in which the quality of our products and service has been very good. It has to be said that the quality issues we experienced from the leather upholstered furniture did have a severe impact on our customers service levels across all furniture offerings, but we are glad to report that our service levels are now back to the quality our customers in the Cane furniture market expect and deserve. As part of this restructuring of the business, it was necessary for the company to propose a Company Voluntary Arrangement with its creditors. This proposal has since been agreed and the company is trading under normal circumstances.

    We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere apologies to any of our customers who have been inconvenienced in any way by recent events.

    The reorganisation of our business has allowed us to place more focus upon both the quality of our products and the service we offer to you, our customers. We are committed to continuing this improvement and are looking forward to a long and successful future in the Cane/Conservatory Furniture market.
