Solid, well-built, metal construction.
Extremely bright for a 2-AA cell compact flashlight.
Candle-mode is bright enough to light up a room.
LED technology means longer battery life.
Maglites are expensive flashlights, but they are the best.
Beam can't be as tightly focused as the non-LED Maglites.
This is the first LED flashlight I've used that is both very bright and also very functional. It is almost as bright as the Maglite 4D and 4C halogen flashlights. And it is far brighter than the regular Maglite halogen 2AA flashlight.
The beam can be focused, although LED flashlights can't focus to as narrow a beam as a regular flashlight can do. I prefer the softer focus of an LED light, since there's no "hot spots" and "dark spots" in the beam. So, it illuminates the area much better.
Battery life is quite good. A pair of AA cells will last a few hours. (Which is very good for a light this bright.) You can use rechargeables.
Overall, Maglite has done an excellent job of incorporating bright LED technology into a simple, functional flashlight design. I don't think I'll be using my older, larger Maglites much anymore, since this little flashlight is almost as bright and far easier to carry.
