Good compromise between a manoeuverable car and a carrier of large/heavy loads. Safety features (except for the common power failure fault, which undermines that - see below). If it were reliable I would be enthusiastic.
Unreliable. When anything goes wrong, the dealer seems to have great trouble diagnosing it (probably not the dealer's fault - the car is evidently not built for easy maintenance).
The Citroen C8 Exclusive 2.2 Hdi would be a very good car if it worked. Faults under 3yr warranty included: failure of central locking (dealer fixed bad earth), rear wash water squirted into car lining (fixed myself), mirrors don't unpark correctly (dealer can't fix), engine smell (dealer fixed at great expense to him), failure to start - towed to dealer by AA (dealer took weeks to fix - replaced ECU and wiring loom at great expense to him), tailgate flaked (dealer replaced), spurious air bag and other messages (at least I hope they are spurious), window motor failed (dealer fixed), electric roof failed (dealer reset), cruise control occasionally doesn't (dealer says no fault found). Now I'm OUT OF WARRANTY and I have the infamous 'ANTI POLLUTION FAILURE' accompanied by serious and sudden loss of power - dangerous if joining a motorway. From the Internet, I find this is common and I haven't come across anyone who has had it fixed at one attempt. (If anyone has had it fixed PLEASE tell us how.) A 'Citroen specialist' and his consultant who also owns a C8, have tried twice and thrown in the towel - so it's back to the dealer and I wait in dread to see what the dealer does with this - I will report here.
By miles, the most unreliable car I have ever owned.
