Good Points

Simplicity of operation, compactness, no "sweet" spots. Extended listening without ear fatigue. System compatability. Great features. Great for "active" life style.

Bad Points

Not for "crtical" listening if you're big on extended bass, or high end.

General Comments

I have gone through a plethora of speakers...from original AR's, Epi's, Boston Acoustics to store brands, and finally building my own. With computer program assistance, a friend and myself were able to build some pretty impressive units. As I got older and my music taste changed and I wanted to listen to music for extended periods for ballroom dancing, talk radio and background music...it was difficult to listen to many of the systems I have for extended periods. There extended range was too fatiguing and demanding of placement. I settled on Bose speakers, and found their lower end speakers to be just what I wanted.
The Lifestyle 48 I have in my living room is an outstanding entertainment center in condensed form. It was a gift from my son who manages the home entertainment dept. in an electronics store. He chides me about my choice of Bose but understands my point of view....I was him once, and he has said he may be there himself. The LS 48 allows me to do other things with music when sitting and bragging about the "detail nuances" that tire my ears, just doesn't cut it anymore. Is it the "best " sounding system I have owned ? (My Velodyne in the family room has much better bass, and my Boston Acoustics have better high end.) So, technically no. But it sounds "good" thoughout the upstairs area, without having to sit in one place. So for that reason, it is the best system I have ever owned without having the best sound. And I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It fits in !!!
