Good Points

Long lead, although it unravels very easily.

Bad Points

It's very heavy to use. The main hose just slots into the main body, but quite often comes out as there is no catch; subsequently everything that is being sucked up is being blasted round your room until you spot it. The extension tubes for brush use also has no catches, so every time you pull back it all falls apart.

Emptying the cylinder is difficult and messy. EVERYTHING gets stuck to the filter inside the cylinder so you have to pull it out by hand (nice). Height adjustment is by hand and very difficult, and the on/off switch is foot control, but it is under the main body of the cleaner, and if your foot is bigger than a size 6 you've had it.

General Comments

In the shop the Vax Turboforce Extra 1850 vacuum cleaner was demonstrated on a very short piled carpet, and on the lowest setting it glided over the floor and sucked up all the stuff they put down nicely, but at home in the real world, where carpet pile differs, stairs and laminate flooring lives, this Hoover, in my opinion fails spectacularly.
