Very good quality, sensitive GPS receiver, fast processor, voice guidance saying road names
No full digit UK postcode support, no updates via Internet
Firstly, as expected, quality very nice. Fast processor, sensitive GPS receiver which picks up a signal quite fast. Car mounting system is nice quality compared to my previous Mio. Good and simple software, menu, but have to admit I did like Mio Map v.3 software more... Displaying speed limits of the roads and adjustable warnings when over the speed limit is very useful but without up to date map/software updates it looses part of that advantage. Besides, it has no full digit UK postcode support, map/software updates (which are very rare) are available only by authorized dealers (according to Becker website).
When wanted to upload with maps for route from UK up to Lithuania we could not choose the separate countries I needed, just groups of 4 maps or the whole of Europe, but for the whole of Europe we had to purchase a 2 GB SD card (maximum supported by device). After install it left only ~ 180 MB of free space for MP3 music (and photos).
According to documentation a 24 month warranty can be claimed if the warranty card is filled in by the seller. When bought via the Internet you will find the warranty sheet untouched in the sealed package of device. Hope it will work anyway...
Finally, I think it is good piece of kit from a famous brand and I recommend it if quality is first on your list of what You need in a new product, not additional features like recent map updates, speed cameras databases and others.
