Good Points

When purchased 2 years ago it was fantastic - lots of gadgets and visually appealing. However severe reliability issues have started to occur. The car has done less than 65000 miles and I have covered 35000 in the last 2 years.


Bad Points

Glow plugs needed replacing at 54000 miles at cost of £130. Needed a full set of front and rear discs and pads at 60000 costing £500+. Then at only 63000 the turbo blew and a replacement set me back £820. Currently the car is in the garage where it has been for the last 3 weeks with a problem with the air intake to the engine. No-one at Renault knows how to fix the problem apart from suggesting a new computer at a cost of £1600 + vat. The car also will need a new gearbox soon as I am having difficulty selecting 1st gear - approximate cost to repair £800. You do the maths - the car has cost me £3800 in two years without servicing costs and tyres factored in. Please note tyres are very expensive - the cheapest price I could get was £125 each, some quotes were over £160


General Comments

I would not recommend the Renault Laguna Sport Tourer to anyone unless you are a Renault dealer/mechanic and you enjoy working on your own vehicles / enjoy frittering your money away.
