General Comments

I have recently aquired this fantastic piece of kit! I bought one from hobbies, Dover for just under the 200 mark 2nd hand with a 3-9x40 Simmons scope. I am unsure of its age, but it had obviously been used regularly, which is why i was so surprised that, when measured with a chronograph, it read right on the top mark! (12ft/lb).
As i said, the stock marks easily, so i have stripped it back to bare wood with sand paper and treated it to a dark stain (close to original) and a laquered finish. much better. It's pretty accurate, i can knock down a row of empty shotgun shells from 30 yards with reasonable ease, but the recoil compared with a pcp can put you off your follow through.
Overall, great, britsh made, so bound to last!

British made... that's the key! I've not only stripped mine, but removed the extra "ambidextrous" cheek piece, added a thumb groove and re-defined the pistol grip (modelled after Weatherby's). Will re-finish in a red-brown stain (hate that dark brown color on Beech) with a black tipped fore end and pistol grip cap.

Excellent gun, very hard to beat, even at this price!
