Good Points

Trip included most excursions - Edfu, Philae, Kom Ombo, Luxor, Karnak, Valleys of Kings/Queens. The staff are helpful/friendly within their limits of authority/capability


Bad Points

Food was very poor. Buffets with thin soup every lunch/dinner, a series of stews with poor quality meat, over cooked vegetables and very sickly sweet desserts. Tea/coffee at meals other than breakfast is extra (and coffee is only Nescafe)
The accommodation is not 5* - the best bit about the room was the power shower and good supply of hot water. Our TV didn't work. The whole ship is bit "tired"
A lot of the Cruising" was in the dark.
The "deal" was cheap for all in ex UK but better food could have been provided at no extra cost as most was uneaten (and thrown away hopefully??) after each meal!


General Comments

A large number (A majority?? Some for 3 or 4 days) of passengers went down with stomach problems - who knows if ship was to blame? On the last day they chuck you out of your cabin at 10 am - even though you don't go to the airport until 17.30 and they should have time to make up cabins for incoming guests in an afternoon. Prices of "optional trips" are inflated -especially the Balloon Ride which they ask £70 for but which you should be able to get for as low as £27 in town (The company were even offering it themselves at £80 for 2 pax from their desk in the Mercure).
