Got my R9 new in 2003 and was shooting and shooting it. Just couldn't get it to group. Finally decided to send it to a tuner for a tune in Feb 2005...didn't see it again for 12 months. Finally got it back in Feb 2006. If you are planning to shoot this gun in Field Target competition, BE WARNED this is not an easy gun to shoot (even after a tune). This gun will punish you with a miss if you don't watch your technique. I've tried numerous holds, checked the stock screws, cleaned the barrel...the results are the same. Some days...it'll group 1/2" at 30yrds...other days...it'll group 1" at 30 yrds. I've shot this gun in FT almost exclusively for the 2006 season. I've won a few matches and the best I could do was around 60% during FT with this gun. I think it's time to retire this gun and just use it as a fun plinker. If your purpose for this gun is for plinking and short distance hunting, this gun should be ideal.
