Very cheap
Very consistently made
Good screw top tin
Hardly any excess lead
Good retaining power and penetration
I bought these pellets purely for my Daisy 880 Powerline, so i can have a knock around in my back garden. They cost £1:99 for 500.
They are domed pellets making them ideal all round hunter and target pellets
For my test I used the same procedure as i did with the .22 version (please read my review) i set cans up at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 yards. I was using my daisy 880 with a 3-9x40 scope
Now the first 5 yard can was interesting, and i definitely didn't expect this from a rifle barely producing 8 ft lbs, the pellets just pased straight through the can with ease and did the same at 10 yards. It did pass through both sides at 15 yards, but at 20 yards it passed through one side of a can but stretched the other side and the pellet was still in the can (hardly deformed at all) as for the 25 yarder it stretched the can and for the 30 yarder it barely dented it. So as you can see the pellet didnt have much retaining power at all beyond 20 yards.
Now for accuracy, I set a target up at 25 yards with an adequate pellet stop, and to test how consistent the pellets were, had the rifle pumped up to the limit, and it wasnt that bad i was producing 1" groups at 25 yards, and this was on a still day.
As for consistancy of quality, ie skirts and head, there were hardly any deformed pellets, and were loaded with excess lead like their .22 counterparts.
For what i paid for these pellets they are a bargain, i really recommend these if you dont want to break the bank!
Hope my review was of some use!
Regards
Tom
