So much to do
Massive selection of cars
Loads of tracks
Good soundtrack
Fine tune your cars
Great sense of realism
I can never complete it
A couple of car manufacturers have been missed out
Well, I bought this game secondhand off a friend of mine, and for how much I paid for it (£15) I can't complain AT ALL.
There is so much to do! You have a massive choice of cars. There are about 700 in total, ranging from small coupe's, all the way up to GT race cars, from popular car manufacturers across the globe. There are 50 tracks in total, including tracks from original Gran Turismo games, like Super Speedway and Apricot Hill Raceway (my favourite), and also real world tracks like the Tsukaba, Fuji Speedway from the 80's, 90's and present day, and the famous Nurburgring.
The graphics are fantastic for a PS2 game, but then again it was delayed for about a year or so, but it was worth the wait!
There's lots of music as well.
You can fine tune your cars too. For example, you can adjust the gear ratios of your car, as to whether you want high acceleration or high speed. You can adjust downforce, the limited slip differential, adjusting torque and power displacement, adjustable suspension, whether you want lower ride height, stiffer or softer springs, and you can change the appearance of your car by changing the alloys and spoiler.
There is such a great sense of realism compared to other games I've played, and you can tell whether you are in a Front engine front wheel based car, or a 4WD, Midship engine, or front engine to rear wheel based cars - you notice the distinct handling characteristics; for example, when you are in a 4WD you can tell you have more traction. You are pushed and pulled through corners of the race track; it's such a great feeling.
I can only point out two bad things - They haven't got the most popular Italian car manufacturer "Ferrari", which I thought was a shame. And the fact that there is so much to do! You can never complete it!
I hope my review was of some use.
Regards
Tom
