Good Points

Tiny size and weight; excellent photo quality considering the size and shape; movie capability with sound is great; rechargeable battery and charger, auto lens cover when you power down; shutter sound when you take a photo, viewer on the back.

Bad Points

Manual only on CD; rubber cover over data port is a little flimsy.

General Comments

I could not really be happier with this Minolta Dimage Xi. The major factor in my choice was its size, as I was sick of lugging round a big camera in a separate case. This is so tiny, and most importantly slimline though, that it just slips into your pocket. I thought the size and design would mean a little compromise on picture quality, but although I am no camera nerd, with the choice of resolutions the quality seems superb! My friends cannot believe it takes such great photos, and also takes movie clips.

I took it to India on holiday recently, and 2 friends are now buying one after seeing what it can do. When we were out in the middle of nowhere, the locals couldn't believe their eyes at what it could do - the instant playback of photos and video had them amazed. Like just about any video camera though, in very poor light conditions it is pretty useless.

The menu system is pretty logical and easy to get around. It has decent stuff like anti-red eye and fill-in flash, and lots of other stuff too.

It really is a great little camera, and I don't regret the £300 for one second.
