Good Points

This is a great way to save extra money for Christmas, but it isn't always best to spend your vouchers in store. Check out the Tesco deals, as there may be an offer that works better for you.

Bad Points

None, as long as you are aware of all the offers out there. If you find out after you have spent your vouchers, you might kick yourself.

General Comments

If you shop there and have a Clubcard, but just spend your vouchers in store, I recommend that you read this review. Their offers certainly do make your money go further!

At the end of 2005 I had a few clubcard points saved up, around £25 from what I can remember, which I intended to spend in store. However, when I received the clubcard offers brochure I found out that I could actually send off the vouchers that I had saved and have them changed into vouchers from a list of hotels/theme parks/shops etc. I chose Goldsmith, and the deal with Goldsmiths was that I would get 4X the value of my clubcard vouchers. I thought that it seemed a bit too good to be true, but I sent them off anyway. A few days later I received £100.00 in Goldsmiths Vouchers. Still thinking there was a catch I went to Goldsmiths with my husband. We asked the assistant before we started shopping what the catch was? She said that there was no catch, they just could give change. So we bought an Armani watch for £195.00 and only paid £95.00, which was pretty fantastic if you ask me.

I was so pleased with last years offer, that I saved my vouchers all year this year and decided I would buy my mum and my mother in law's Christmas presents from Goldsmiths. The only change this year was that there is now a minimum spend of £200.00.

At the beginning of November my points were totalled up and I received £90.50 in clubcard vouchers, I changed £50.00 worth for Goldsmiths, which gave me the 4x the value again, and so I had £200.00 in Goldsmiths vouchers. I went along to Goldsmiths and bought 2 watches and a diamond bracelet for £249.00 - so it actually cost us £49.00 - how great is that?

Then, with the remainder of my vouchers I decided to try one of the Hotel offers and changed £37.50 for MacDonald hotels, giving me £150.00 (4X again) towards a night away at a MacDonalds hotel.

So basically, for just doing my weekly shopping at Tesco, I have been able to treat my mum and mother in law to gifts from Goldsmiths that we would usually not be able to afford, and pay for a night away on Lake Windermere for my husband and myself!

All I can say is thank you Tesco!!
