General Comments

I have had many mobile phones because i work in the industary and i believe that the Siemens S55 is one of the best mobile phones that i have had. It picks up reception awesome and it has everything that a person looking in this price range wants. If you want more look more expensive. What makes me laugh is that people compare Nokia and other brands with Siemens. You wont find a Siemens phone that doesnt out do its competition. Although the colour seen isnt the best it is only a display and if you want to see a good picture send it to an e-mail address via MMS. That easy. Siemens have the best quality by my opinion on the market. As i said i work with mobile phones everyday and you hardley send any away. That record speaks for itself i think. I dont beleive that the Siemens S55 was designed for Syncro much or anything like that it was more design for mobile use. The speaker phone is also another feature which is rare but coming more popular that i love. It is easily good enough to use while driving or just so you dont have to hold the thing. The phone will hold as much as i personally can pump into it and i can not rave enough about it. Sure it doesnt have the best screen but in my opinion that is a small trade for quality and features. Also i think that the Siemens S55 is one of the easiest phones i have used. It reminds me of my old phone. The Sony Ericsson T68i which may i add was about the same price when i got it about 8 months ago and you cant compare the 2. the Siemens will always come out on top. I would recommend it to anyone looking in the price range.

The speakerfone is pap! as is the whole volume.. how he can say he uses it as he drives, he must be driving an electric wheelchair in a library.
The speaker and the ringtones (from the speaker) are way too quiet, and yes, I do have it set for noisy environment. Apart from that and the poor screen, oh and an occasional card error for no reason at all, it is good, very good in fact.

A year on and I was considering upgrading to a new phone. It wasn’t until I had 3 on trial that I realised what a brilliant phone the Siemens S55 is.
I tried the NEC 616e, Motorola V300 and V600, all latest technology but still not a patch on the S55.
If you want a phone with a camera and not a camera/video with a phone it’s still an excellent choice.
Pro’s 1) The address book is great because it holds all the info easily downloaded from Outlook via excellent PC S/W supplied ie. postal address, email and phone no’s. 2) You can also download the entire address from the S55 via BT within seconds. 3)When using T9 it stores words previously spelled, a pain if it hasn’t got this capability. 4) The font size on the S55 is larger than the other phones I tried and therefore I do not need to fish around for glasses to use the phone.
Con’s Polyphonic Ring tones are to quiet.
