General Comments

Excellent digital camera for the price. Image quality is impressive as long as the settings are cranked up to the max (1280 res, high quality). At the top setting you get around 50 pics to a 32mb card. This can be adjusted downwards to around 1000 images at the lowest settings (not to be recommended though). Two resolutions available - 640x480 and 1280x960 with 3 quality settings for each (basic, normal, fine). Also 3 sharpness settings available.

Zoom is digital only so a 1280 res image, when zoomed, gets 'chopped' to 640 res. On my camera, images tend to get underexposed when using the flash. This is easily remedied by either post photo manipulation or using the manual settings.
Manual allows control over lighting conditions and exposure settings, but not over aperture or shutter speed. Shutter is controlled automatically and appears to range between 1/2 to 1/500 th of a second.

No hot shoe for an additional flash unit, so if additional flash units used, they need to be true slaves.
Underside has a mount for use with a tripod and camera has a 10 second self timer so no need for a remote shutter release.
Camera gives excellent results in low light conditions e.g. sunsets with accurate colour rendition in virtually all lighting conditions.
If you intend doing a lot of distance work, then i'd suggest looking for a camera with an optical zoom (more bucks!) but if you want a basic point and shoot then you could do a lot worse than invest in this camera.
As a cheap intro to general purpose digital photography i'd heartily recommend it.
