General Comments

Bought my Ford Cougar 2.5 X auto last month after having driven both the auto and manual. The maunal is very quick, however I just felt that the whole package lent itself to the auto much better. My Cougar has all the extras and is finished in Melina Blue. Nice looking car that is cheap to buy, cheap to service [£107 incl VAT] and I have sourced a local tyre garage that will supply me with tyres [BF Goodrich's] for £70 + VAT! Fuel is a bit heavy, but then my last motor was a 1.6 Ford Focus - wouldn't change it though!

Just got one myself, and it is the first time in ages that I look forward to driving to work. The engine is a pure beauty and and for an auto the pick up is superb. I just look at it and dribble in pure delight. The lines of the car are fantastic and it may not be a real drivers car (no racing bends or responsive steering) but in Americana speak it is after all grand tourer. I am really looking forward to taking it to France or Germany and just cruising in comfort with plenty of throttle to spare.

Get a Powerflow Stainless Steel Exhaust from the cat back, £200 fitted, turn the cd off and sit back and enjoy the engine note, well worth the money. I made mine a twin pipe with powerflow silencer boxes on each pipe and oval tail pipes. The car looks better with a pipe each side at the rear. Also this de-restricts the system letting the car breathe better. While we are on that subject, I got a green cotton replacement air filter, fits the air box perfectly. This de-restricts the air intake, so all in all the engine runs a lot nicer and no fuel consumption penalty.
