Good Points

No problems for the first three years during the warranty period. In that period we clocked up 26,000 miles. No major problems even for next two more years except that the oil pressure indicator light started to show even when the oil tank was full.


Bad Points

After 5 years of use it needed a new engine at 30,000 miles on the clock. I was told that without an engine replacement, the car was useless.


General Comments

Volkswagen Golf 1.4 LT Car Review:
Once the warranty period (3 years) is over, the dealer is more interested in selling you a new car than carrying out proper servicing work for your old car. Their servicing charges are 'Sky High' after the warranty period.
