When we originally purchased the suite everything went fine. We arranged delivery within the allotted timescale, so I took a full day off work to wait for the suite, as we were told delivery would be between 8am and 6pm (which annoyed me to start with, as I work for a delivery company, and we can always provide rough times for deliveries, usually within the hour). I waited all day until I received a phone call at 6:30pm stating that delivery would now be in the morning because the driver had run out of hours. Fair enough that the driver couldn't drive any more, as I would never ask anyone to risk prosecution for me, but the driver must have have known roughly how many hours he had left and how many deliveries he would get done. I did however, refuse to pay for delivery because it was a day late so I did save the £50.
Basically, the suite was delivered at 7:20pm on Saturday morning, so another early morning on my day off. The driver got the sofa in, put it together and rushed me to check it, which I did. Then a bit later on in the day I realised that the backs reclined on the sofa, so I checked them, and one of them doesn't work, so now I have to wait for someone to call me and arrange to get it either repaired or replaced. They've got 48 hours to get in contact with me.
I've also spoken to the store manager of the Leeds branch, and far from trying to sort out my complaint he didn't seem interested. When I explained I'd wasted a day of my holiday, the reply I got was "well, we've given you free delivery." Yes, you did give me free delivery, but that was for the fact that the delivery was a day late, not for the fact that I've wasted a day of my life waiting for your delivery company!
Thanks very much Land of Leather. You've made a customer very unhappy.
I will update this review when I receive a call from their repair people.
