Good Points

Lots of cars to choose from and really good web prices (although make sure you print off the certificate), we forgot and they made us go home and get it!!!!!

Bad Points

To get the best price you need the web price certificate!!

General Comments

We searched for our new car on autotrader and found them this way. Hadn't read these reviews at that stage. We had narrowed our search down to 1 of three cars and applied for the web price certificates. They came through via email within seconds and about 30 minutes later got a call from them on my mobile letting me know that of the three, 2 were at their Bristol site and the 3rd was at their Essex site. They arranged to have it moved to Bristol (We placed a £100 deposit via credit card) and arranged to visit that weekend. When we arrived on the Saturday morning all three cars were their ready for us to test drive. My wife chose the car based on the most important criteria (colour!!!!!!). On the test drive I noticed a couple of small things that weren't right, cigar lighter missing, the radio didn't work (the salesman said it needed coding) and the car pulled slightly to the left (they had the tracking done and it's fine). Once we had driven the car we had to get down to the money side of things. We didn't have a part exchange so we just wanted to buy it. They still tried to sell us a warranty and some other vehicle protection thing but we just wanted the car. Then they asked for the certificate and at that point it went a little wrong. In our haste to leave I'd left them at home. I'LL PUT THIS IN CAPITALS --- NO CERTIFICATE NO DEAL --- They were insistent as it represented a saving of almost £2,000 (This is the money they would normally use to give you shed loads for your Austin Montego or offer you 0% this or that.) Anyway we drove home and returned 45 minutes later with the said certificate and finished the deal off. I could tell they don't like the Internet deals as it takes away all the haggling you usually get when buying a car. Anyway we picked the car up later that week and we are 110% pleased with it. I don't think I would have liked to have gone in there without a web price certificate. We are thoroughly recommending them but make sure you get a certificate first.
