Good Points

Cheap clear tub.
Easy open.

Bad Points

It does not soak into the wall. It sort of lays on top.
It is very weird paint when it sets dry, as it feels like a balloon type material.

General Comments

I bought about 11 tubs of B&Q Colours Fresh Emulsion paint in various colours to start to do my newly plastered house. The plastered walls by the way had been drying out for about three months, so they were bone dry. We wanted to paint all the inside of the house together, rather than one room here and there, for the brand new sort of look. Well, being new plaster, I sized all the walls with unibond to seal in the dust, and then I decided to paint the walls first in my daughters bedroom.

First off I used plain white emulsion; just a cheap one just to cover up the plastered walls before I put the good stuff on (B&Q Colours Lemon). The first coat went on, and it did cross my mind how funny the paint was going on the wall. It was a sort of mottled effect, and not smooth looking. I let that dry, and then proceeded with the second coat, and I couldn't believe what was happening! As I was painting the second coat, the first coat was peeling of under the roller like it was being sucked of the wall, and when I looked closer at the wall where the paint had been, I could still see the white paint underneath the lemon colour. It never even bonded to the walls! It was like that part of the wall hadn't been painted. When I picked the peeling paint of the roller, it felt like a balloon type material. You could actually stretch it, so what paint I had left in the tub went back along with the other 10 tubs.

Do yourself a favour and buy what the professionals buy, and you won't go wrong.

Was it Unibond's PVA glue you sealed the plaster with by any chance? Although it's not a bad way to seal it, it's not the best, as it is very hard to paint over it again. You should have used the proper plaster sealer or some of the cheap matt emulsion. Though I do agree with you that the B&Q Colours Fresh colours emulsion paint is rubbish.
