Good Points

Transfer from airport ran like clockwork. In hotel room less than 45 minutes from touchdown. Clean rooms. Friendly helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Food thoroughly acceptable with buffet breakfast from continental to fried English. Lunch buffet again, with a variety of hot and cold dishes. Always an interesting choice on the evening menu.

Upgraded to Deluxe package which gave us a sunbed and towel at the pool, corner room with balcony, and transfer from airport with our luggage. Upgrade to Royal Safari on the aircraft was also well worth it, as there was extra leg room, luggage allowance and access to separate lounge at Gatwick and Mombasa, which all made for pleasant travelling.

Bad Points

Lack of tea coffee making facilities.
Only promote African Safari tours.
Tired vehicles, but adequate. No wonder when you see the state of the pot holed roads that have to be negotiated.

General Comments

We have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Kenya. We are writing to congratulate all the staff at the Flamingo Beach Hotel, from the manager down to the porters, gardeners and maintenance staff. They were excellent. Likewise, the staff at the Mara Buffalo Camp on our safari, especially our driver, who was a star in every way, and always found the game. Sign for all purchases, which are charged in Euros before then being changed into Kenyan shillings. Finally, billed to the credit card in English pounds. Seems a strange way to operate, but you soon get used to it.

Would we go again? YES, no hesitation.
