General Comments

My Fender Jazz Bass Mexican guitar was a Saturday afternoon impulse buy, to indulge my mid-life crisis (well, it's cheaper than a Porsche). I haven't owned a Fender for over twenty years, and that was a very battered Tele Bass, of which I still have fond memories. Since then it's been a real mixture of Ibanez, Yamaha BB and an excellent 60s Epiphone Rivoli - the only one I've hung on to.

To be honest, I've found a lot of the Mexican Fenders I've tried pretty rough, probably down to some music stores not setting them up before displaying them, but this Jazz bass (in sunburst) is very good. Well set and once I'd had the white scratchplate changed for a tortoise-shell one, and some Roto flatwounds put on it. It's a real old-school gem!
