Solid, reliable company, with good customer service and excellent field crews (linesman, forestry).
Bad Points
We're on an old power line and get a fair few blackouts.
General Comments
Scottish Hydro Electric are what you'd expect from a utility company. The electricity is delivered most of the time and at a reasonable price. When the power lines do go down, the company tells you where, why and how long for a fix. The linesmen (the line crosses our croft) are polite, ask permission to come onto the place and tell you what's happening and why.
The forestry teams who top the trees under the power lines on our croft are also polite, and they ask permission, and do a good job.
When I've had a query about our supply or about the lines on our land, the call centre operatives have been polite, friendly and helpful. If they don't know the answer, they tell you and say they'll get someone to call back at a particular time, and the person with the answer does call at that time.
The only reason I don't give them a higher rating is because of the blackouts, but even so they do get fixed, and - unlike BT, they don't say you have to wait longer because you're in a rural area.
