General Comments

On loaf number 4 the blade seemed to have a problem turning, and then the motor started making a clonking noise.

I returned the Morphy Richards 48280 breadmaker to the shop today, and I got a replacement. I tried making some dough (not even baking anything), and when I turned out the dough the fixed part of the rotor blade underneath fell off. It had been welded to the bucket, but the metal to metal bond failed totally. I will return again tomorrow (if they believe me). I am undecided what to do next, and I am tempted to change to another brand.

Commiserations vik...if it's of any use to you, I have a friend who makes all my bread on a Hinari HB161. This machine has been in regular use for almost three years now, and it has never given any trouble whatsoever. It seems a very robust device, and bakes delicious bread which no commercial stuff can approach, let alone equal.

I have had the morphy richards fast bake bread-maker for 2 years and although I have made lots of bread very successfully I had a similar problem of the 'paddle' welding itself to the bucket. I ended up not removing the paddle when I washed it and baked lots more bread but in the end it also failed completely. This may be a design fault if other people have experienced this problem. Maybe I wont buy a Morphy richards one next time!
